The Romanian Orthodox Youth of the Americas Association (ROYA) announces the first Youth Conference of all parishes of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas on October 6-9, 2017 (arrival October 6 in the afternoon, leaving October 9 at noon). That weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada and Columbus Day in USA. Both Hierarchs of our Metropolia will be present.

The theme of the Conference will be “Challenges of the Christian Youth in the 21st Century”. The main speaker will be Virgiliu Gheorghe, biophysicist and PhD in bioethics, vice-president of the Institute of Psychosocial Research and Bioethics Bucharest, coordinator of the scientific section of the Orthodox Family magazine and author of several volumes, including “The Effects of Television on the Human Mind” and “Pornography, 21st Century Disease”. The schedule will include workshops on various themes, as well as an administrative sesssion on the organization of ROYA.

Please save the date, inform the Youth of your parish, and make any effort to encourage their participation. Any financial support for transportation and accommodation is welcome. We expect at least two representatives from each parish situated on the East Coast of USA and Canada, and at least one from the other locations. Further information will be available soon.
